Writing grants can be very engaging and fun. It may take up to an hour to write up a grant, or it may take 15 minutes. Whatever the case, the end-result could mean money for your projects. I did not write any grants for 30 years. How foolish! Many companies, stakeholders in the education of our students, are ready, willing, and able to grant us aid if we only prove to them that we need it and that we will use the money effectively. Comprehensible Input/Acquisition Driven Instruction
As a language teacher who thrives in Acquisition Driven Instruction (ADI), I strive for positive results through the application of Comprehensible Input (CI) and communicative abilities. There is a plethora of strategies I can share for ADI and CI, but as an example, in a professional development setting, I will help coach target language CI vocabulary and grammar. It is most effective in small to large group since it’s the energy of the group that fuels Total Physical Response (TPR) as the group works through Personalized Questions and Answers, expanding with spins on the TPR stories, using electronic devices to create movie/ picture time, then creating a reading assignment or a song that sums up the vocabulary or grammar.
